100 Years Ago – 1920: Delaware County industries during the year 1919 produced manufactures having a total value of $356,920,000, according to figures just compiled by the state Bureau of Statistics and Information. Of the total valuation, $112,468,700 were produced in the city of Chester, and $49,494,000 worth of manufactures were turned out at Marcus Hook, showing the value of manufactured products in other parts of the county to be $194,956,700.

75 Years Ago – 1945: The largest concert crowd of the season was chased by the rain at Deshong Park last night mid-way through a program by the Westinghouse Steam Division Band. Five numbers had been completed when the storm interfered and sent bandsmen and the audience running for shelter.
