History Research Center is a suite of five databases:  African-American History, American History, American Indian History, Ancient and Medieval History, and Modern World History.  These databases can be searched simultaneously or separately.  Each database offers maps and charts, primary sources, timelines of historical events, and videos.  They also offer different citation formats.  This is a rich resource for students working on history papers, or those who just wish to read up on historical topics.

Gale General OneFile is one of the largest available databases of periodicals, offering access to over 14,000 titles.  Over 8,700 of these titles provide the full text of articles.  This database also includes videos, audios, and images.  It is designed with intuitive searching that mirrors the Internet searching familiar to most people.  General OneFile is notable for the number of major newspapers it includes: one can find articles from The Wall Street JournalThe Washington PostThe Guardian, and The Christian Science Monitor.

Fun Video Challenge!  Runs from 9 am on Monday through 9 pm on Sunday.  Support local businesses by playing a game!  Each week the library will share a video for you to watch.  After you’ve seen the video, take a fun quiz to test your powers of observation.  Each submission with all correct answers earns you an entry into a weekly raffle for a $25 gift certificate to a Chatham Borough or Chatham Township restaurant.  Limit: one entry per Chatham library card.
